Recipe. No really.

If you're looking for writing updates, skip on by.

I promised this recipe to a bunch of people and this seemed the easiest way to disseminate it. (Okay, writing from a younger characters pov, and disseminate makes me giggle). People have called these Triple O Brownies. I don't know if I'd go that far, but they're pretty damned good.

Cappuccino Brownies (Can be made with regular instant coffee)

Brownie layer:
1 ½ c. chocolate chips
2 T instant espresso, dissolved in 1 T. of boiling water
1 ½ sticks of butter, cut into bits
2 tsp vanilla
1 ½ c. sugar
½ tsp. salt
1 c. flour
Preheat oven to 350. In a metal bowl set over a pan of barely simmering water, combine the chocolate, butter and espresso and stir until melted and smooth. Remove from heat, cool to lukewarm and stir in vanilla. With electric mixer, beat in sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour and stir until just combined. Pour into a 9 X13 pan, buttered and floured, smooth the top and bake for 27 minutes. Cool completely in pan.

Cream Cheese layer
8 oz cream cheese softened
¾ stick butter softened
1 ½ c. confectionery sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Beat the softened butter and cream cheese until well combined. Sift together the sugar and cinnamon and add. Beat on high speed until fluffy. Spread on cooled brownie layer and refrigerate overnight or until firm.

Glaze
1 c. chocolate chips or bittersweet chocolate cut into bits
2 T. butter, cut into bits
½ c. heavy cream
1 ½ T. instant espresso dissolved in 1 T. boiling water

In a metal bowl set over barely simmering water, combine all ingredients. Stir until melted smooth. Cool to room temperature. Carefully spread over cream cheese layer and chill until firm (at least three hours).

Cut into small squares, very rich.
